The Bunting Project - A Celebration of Our Community of Makers
Deadline for submissions: May 25, 2019

Our town's annual street festival Smyrna at Night is in June, and we want to showcase your talent! We plan to decorate the front awning of the shop with a colorful and creative bunting, all made by knitters and crocheters in our community.

How to Participate:

Knit or crochet a flag that will fly over the entrance to our shop. Use your creativity: showcase your favorite colors, stitches, or techniques.

Details:

  • Be creative! Use colors you love, chunky or refined fiber, stitches simple or complex.
  • Use acrylic or mostly acrylic yarn. The bunting will be exposed to the elements, and acrylics play best in the rain for this purpose.
  • Please do not make references to politics. At The Yarn Maven, one of our core values is to create community, and we want this project to reflect our friendships.

Size and Shape:

  • 9" - 12" wide and 12" - 18" long.
  • Here are a few suggested shapes; use your imagination!
